  • la dimensione dello spreco alimentare nell’Unione Europea;
  • gli impatti ambientali, economici e sociali dello spreco di cibo;
  • le principali fasi della filiera in cui si verificano perdite e sprechi;
  • le connessioni tra spreco alimentare, sostenibilità e giustizia sociale;
  • azioni pratiche per ridurre lo spreco nella vita quotidiana;

  • comprendere meglio la portata dello spreco alimentare e le sue conseguenze;
  • riconoscere dove e perché il cibo viene sprecato lungo la filiera;
  • collegare lo spreco alimentare alle sfide ambientali, economiche e sociali;
  • individuare azioni pratiche per sensibilizzare giovani e comunità;

What is food waste?

Food waste refers to food that is lost or discarded at different stages of the food supply chain, from production and distribution to household consumption and food services.

It is a complex issue that is not only about the amount of food thrown away, but also about the resources used to produce, transport, store, and prepare it.

What we’ll cover

During the webinar, participants will explore:

  • the scale of food waste in the European Union;
  • the environmental, economic, and social impacts of food waste;
  • where food loss and waste occur along the supply chain;
  • the links between food waste, sustainability, and social justice;
  • practical actions to reduce food waste in everyday life;
  • tools and ideas that can be adapted to youth work, non-formal education, and community activities.
