L'Africa Youth Ministries è alla ricerca di volontari per il Global Peace Game 2012 che si terrà dal 21 giungo al 21 settembre, giornata intenrazione della Pace.

Obiettivo del progetto insegnare ai giovani, attraverso lo sport, gli strumenti della non-violenza 

 

Descrizione Progetto

Africa Youth Ministries is an International Christian Non-governmental Organisation (NGO) dedicated to serving humanity as a whole, implementing Development, Humanitarian and Social Economic Projects. 

Addressing major problems facing young people e.g Africa Youth Ministries will be running the 2012 Global Peace Games under the Peace Through Sport Project an on-going initiative funded by various foreign partners.

Through the 2012 Global Peace Games, AYM will be reaching out to over 2000 war affected Children and youth in the communities of Barlonyo where the LRA rebels massacred 300 innocent civilians on the feb 21st 2004 and Atyak another community where LRA rebels massacred 300 plus innocent people. PLAY SOCCER founded the Global Peace Games in 2001 to promote a global network of children and youth committed to a culture of friendship, understanding and peace. The Global Peace Games are “grass roots” soccer games that take place under the initiative of PLAY SOCCER and are organized by organizations and communities around the world. The Games are linked by common themes and encourage children and youth to share and celebrate the values and skills they learn on the playing field through sport and to find peaceful solutions in their daily lives and communities.

 

Celebrating Peace Through Sport:

The AYM organized peace games will offer war affected children and youth a rare chance of fun. The children of all ages will enjoy diverse supervised activities including soccer, volleyball, netball, rope skipping, rope tags, drama, traditional dances like Bwola, Larakaraka, sandcastle building, and peace painting competitions. Hundreds of war affected children and youth in Northern Uganda will gather in different communities to celebrate peace as they participate in organized soccer activities. The 2010 Global Peace games will be used to empowers war affected children and youth to create their own fun filled safe playing spaces and communities by forming partnerships with primary schools, families, and young adult volunteers. Peace Games participants will as well be equipped with peace making Life Skills and values on Reconciliation, Forgiveness, Tolerance, and Non-Violence
