The P&G Brussels Innovation Centre in Brussels (Belgium) is a key training center for worldwide P&G technical staff and offers research training for the development of fundamental knowledge on biotechnology alternatives to basic chemicals in detergents. We are a pioneer in developing new technologies and innovations in consumer product categories that improve the health and well being of consumers worldwide, through the application of leading edge science and technology and a deep understanding of consumer needs.

 

Together with five excellent European partners we offer young researchers a research perspective at world-class scientific level in multidisciplinary and international teams to achieve a breakthrough in the development of sustainable detergents. Thanks to the European funded Programme on Academia- Industry Partnership Pathway (CAP-IT, IAPP 251298) we are currently seeking a research fellow for a period of 12 months.  The research is carried out at Procter & Gamble Brussels Innovation Centre (BE).  The researcher should have a PhD degree in Chemistry or Pharma and be available to start effective August 2012, sooner if possible.

 

Job Requirements

We need a young talented individual who has background preferably in Pharmacy or Chemistry. Knowledge on deposition mechanisms and how surface characteristics change in function of the deposited chemical and encapsulation will be highly appreciated. It will be a plus if the candidate has knowledge in mass spectrometry with a focus on small molecules, in order to combine that technique's selectivity, sensitivity and high throughput advantages to drive learning in the overall technology program.

In addition to technical excellence and a good knowledge of English, we also look for skills such as passion for winning, creativity, innovation, initiative, communication, leadership and the ability to work with others.

Excellent communication skills will be essential for the important data mining part.

The successful candidates must have excellent analytical and conception skills and a good command of English.

Knowledge of Dutch, Spanish, German, Portuguese, French or Italian would be an asset, but is not necessarily required.

 

During the fellowship you will :

- work on your own project as part of a European project team,

- have an opportunity to put your technical skills to work on intellectually challenging problems,

- improve your team working and soft skills through practical experience and interactive training courses,

- learn to work effectively with people of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds,

- experience the working environment in at a technology leader, and

- gain guidance on your professional development

 

Participation rules for both projects :

- the eligible researcher must have a PhD degree or at least 4 years in Research

- researchers with Belgian nationality can NOT apply for this vacancy

- applicants who have worked or studied for 12 months or more in Belgium during the last three years can NOT apply for this vacancy
