Sve già approvato in Slovacchia: Partenza a febbraio

slovac.jpgLa ONG Žabky sta cercando urgentemente un candidato che rimpiazzi un volontario che ha dovuto rinunciare all'ultimo momento ad un progetto del Servizio Volontario Europeo presso la propria sede nella Repubblica Slovacca.


Il progetto e' gia' approvato e, quindi, chi sara' scelto ha gia' la certezza di partire.


Le attivita' avranno inizio a febbraio (un eventuale piccolo "ritardo" puo' essere concordato con la Host Organisation per venire incontro alle esigenze del volontario, visti i tempi stretti ed il poco preavviso).


Se siete interessati, inviateci cv, motivation letter specifica (entrambi in inglese e su due file di testo distini) ed una vostra foto (su file immagine) a utilizzando questo form entro il 20 gennaio 2012. Solo le candidature complete saranno prese in considerazione.

Ricordate di indicare il codice del progetto e la dicitura "Sending Organisation: Scambieuropei" nell'oggetto e nel corpo dell'e-mail. Nella lettera motivazionale segnalate (ad inizio o fine): "Sending Organisation: Associazione Scambieuropei (EI-Ref: 2010-IT-163)".

HOST ORGANISATION Zabky are an NGO. Our headquarters is in Kosice, but we have group of active youngsters in small village Torysa as well. These two places will be the centre for EVS volunteers. A volunteer working with children and youth will have flexible working place in May-August due to the fact, that summer children camps and nature schools can be placed throughout Slovakia (for more information see www.detskerekreacie.sk).


PROJECT ENVIRONMENT Torysa is small village in east Slovakia with population about 1500. It is situated about 80 km to the north of Košice. Major nationality is Slovak, but there are also some Roma people. There is a beautiful nature around the village, if offers a lot of opportunities for hiking. More than 90 percent of inhabitants are roma-catholic. Torysa is about 80 km from Kosice, 40 km from Prešov and 80 km from Poprad, the town under High Tatras. It takes less than an hour to get there by car. Slovak Paradise is even more closer. The capital Bratislava is about 450 km far from Torysa and it takes about 7 hours by bus and train. The nearest airports are in Kosice nad Krakow (Poland), both app 80 km. Torysa is only 30 km far from borders with Poland.


PROPOSED ACTIVITIES Volunteer in Torysa will be for many people (especially olders and schoolars) first contact with other culture. He/she needs to be aware, that during first days of EVS he/she can be quite interesting and exotic for others. But there is no threat for volunteers, people in Torysa are very nice and hospitable. Volunteer´s main aim is to bring cross-cultural element to the village, to be part of activities our young volunteers prepare and to organise workshops. Main part of his/her work is to assist english teacher or other teachers at schools in neighbours´ villages, which children from Torysa visits, and to run lessons of english conversation for unemployed young people. Percentage of working time: - Lessons of english coversation 20% - Helping with actities for community 30% - Preparation and implementation of an intercultural events 20% - Assisting in schools 30% An example of weekly timetable (beginning phase of EVS - first few months), indicating working hours, free time, holiday for position: Volunteer for work in community: Monday: 8h-10h Slovak language course, 10h-17h preparation for assisting at school, preparation of workshops Tuesday: 8h-10h Assisting at school, 10h-12h Slovak language course at school, 12h-14h assisting at school, 14h-18h planning intercultural worshop for Friday Wednesday: free day Thursday: : 8h-10h Assisting at school, 10h-12h Slovak language course at school, 12h-14h assisting at school, 14h-16h Meeting with teachers to plan activities for next week, Friday: 8h-10h Slovak language course, 10h-16h Shopping, cooking, decorating room, preparing materials for intercultural activity, 16h-18h intercultural activity Saturday: 10h - 16h Assisting with leisure time activities for children and youth Sanday: free day


PRACTICAL ARRANGEMENTS Accommodation: Volunteers will be accommodated in a house with 2 or 3 bedrooms (depending on number of volunteers), kitchen and bath room. Food: - Breakfast: individually - Lunch: individually - Dinner: individually - Weekends: individually During work in children camps, nature schools or during trainings, food and accommodation is provided free of charge for the volunteer. VOLUNTEER'S PROFILE We do not have any strict criteria for recruitment the volunteer. We would appreciate, if the proper person could have experience in work with children, youth or media. We do not make any discrimination in recruitment process, neither will we select by gender, religion or country of origin.


The sending organization should have the same mission as we have - work with children, youth and propagation non-profit organization.
